Micheal,
Just wondering. I caught the part about you being a step dad first to a 3 and a half year old. I was wondering if the biological parent is around as I also have 2 children from a previous marriage and am trying to figure out the logistics of a mobile lifestyle while keeping them in touch with their dad. My husband and I also have a 22 month old and are really interested in changing our lifestyle. Do you happen to know any other blended families that live this way?

Hi Jason,

Thanks for checking back. Since the video was recorded I've:

1. Continued to run my primary business, a graphic design studio.

2. Became a partner in startup call AdJack - http://www.adjack.tv

3. Continued with FamilyHack.com

4. Begun development on several new business "muses".

5. Drank lots of great wine

6. Knocked up my wife. We're due in May.

Holy Crap! I need a nap. But seriously. Is there anything specific you wanted to know? We've been living this way for several years and I'd be happy to share any experience I have.

Best,
Michael

David,

As far as neighborhoods are concerned. We've stayed in Recoleta a couple times. It's definitely the posh neighborhood. Very nice and sure to keep you all happy.

The last time we were there, we stayed in San Telmo. A much older working class area with a lot funky old buildings. Some people consider the area dangerous after dark, but we were there a whole month and never once felt threatend.

It's definitley not as clean and affluent as Recoleta, but I'm not of the school that thinks just because somebody is poor they are dangerous. We wanted something different and got it.

Speaking of different. We'll stay in Palermo next trip. An area we've never stayed in, so an obvious choice.

Best,
Michael

We are heading down to Buenos Aires for a year with our two kids. One is 3 and the other is 12. We were going to pay a lot of money to put the 12 year old in the American School. After watching your post, I'm having second thoughts. I like the idea of the freedom to see the rest of BsAs on our own schedule. Don't know if I have the patience or discipline to "home school" a 12 year old. But I think we are going to hire a private tutor who will.

Look us up in BsAs when you go down again. Loved to get some tips from you on your favorite parts of the city.

Jon,

It sounds like I was preaching to the choir. Keep me posted on your travels and if we cross paths the first round is on us.

Love it!!! Like you we home school our kiddos and my wife is at home with them. The freedom to travel and take the whole family is awesome...we love being able to be completely spontaneous.

I'm looking forward to following your journey. Maybe we'll bump into each other somewhere in the world.
