		<description>My dad put up that rink every winter when I was a kid.  He experimented for a few year, but then used the same configuration and lumber for at least 7 years.  I think he got a couple years out of each tarp.  After the initial setup the yearly cost is under $50.

If you want to see some amazing backyard rinks look for the Canadian home depot contest.  You&#039;ll see regulation size backyard rinks complete with boards, benches, and lights.  One of these winters I&#039;m going to try painting lines on our ice.  I&#039;ll make sure to blog my efforts.</description>
